Well hello G-fans.. I know it has been a long time since I have posted on here. And I know many of you wanted to see where my sequel went. Sorry to disappoint but having other projects to work on, and knowing I wouldn't get a call to be part of the writing team for Godzilla, I had to put it on the backburner.
Well we finally got our movie. Though not as action packed as what I envisioned I believe Gareth and Legendary still did an awesome job. The overall story was good. I loved the slow buildup though I feel it was too slow sometimes. And the fight teases only to cut away was a little frustrating. But it was all worth it at the end. The effects were stupendous and I honestly believe this movie should win the Oscar for best effects.
Thomas made a great choice in choosing Gareth for this project. His direction and visions truly made this movie a great spectacle that reminds one of old time summer blockbusters. And now it seems Gareth gets to do one of my other passions. Star Wars. I wish him the best in this endeavour and I know he will bring a great story to life. This is the man to watch. He is on track to being the next Speilberg. Sometimes taking a chance on an unknown can have great results. And Gareth has proved himself. By giving him a project he was passionate about, he was able to deliver.
I know sometimes it is risky to try something new and unestablished. I know Legendary had a lot riding on this and I am very happy to see it payed off more than expected. I also remember reading an article years ago when I first wrote this, where Thomas Tull had mentioned knowing of a script that existed that was very good, but penned by an unknown writer. I like to believe that he was referring to this one. I like to believe that this was read by people involved in the Godzilla project, which was my intention. I wanted to be noticed and possibly accepted as a writer. Of course I too have a deep passion for Godzilla and always wanted to see it done right. Well now I have. Just sorry I wasn't involved.
I would like to thank all of you that read this and gave great reviews. It gave me the confidence to finally try to pursue a career in writing. I have even heard from some of you that said Gareth would have made this script into sheer awesomeness and liked the story a little better than what we saw. Thank You. It means a lot.
So the big question now is... When am I going to finish my story? Well just like Legendary, I planned a trilogy. And each chapter was more epic than the previous. But right now is not the time. I currently am working on my first truly optioned screenplay and really need to finish that. I also do not want to give too much away in my story as I hold out a glimmer of hope that maybe.. Just maybe. I can get a chance to work with Max and Gareth on one of the sequels. If I make my ideas public, I know I would lose any remote possibility of that happening. So I must hold off for now. Though you all did get a sort of tease as to what direction I was going with it.
Now I find myself thinking how I could combine my story and universe with what has already been seen. Got to say I have some incredible ideas. So maybe after Godzilla 2, If I do not find a way to get a chance to be part of it. I will complete my story for you the fans. Thank you all again for the support.
